LTL freight must be inspected before the carrier’s delivery receipt is signed whenever reasonably possible. The person physically receiving the shipment is responsible for counting all pallets, crates, cartons, and loose pieces; inspecting all accessible sides; photographing the shipment; and documenting every visible exception on the carrier’s delivery receipt beforesigning.

Visible exceptions include, but are not limited to, crushed or torn packaging, punctures, wetness, broken pallets or crates, broken bands, shifted or leaning freight, exposed product, missing pieces, and visible product damage. Describe the condition specifically. Do not write only “damaged,” “subject to inspection,” or similar general wording.

If packaging conditions suggest possible concealed damage, document the actual packaging condition on the delivery receipt and inspect the product immediately after delivery. Minor packaging damage does not automatically require refusal. If the freight is severely damaged, unsafe to handle, or the product is clearly unusable, contact Cornish Medical before
accepting or refusing whenever practicable.

Immediately report any damage, shortage, refusal, or suspected concealed damage to shipping@cornishmedical.com or 800-722-5304, and no later than 24 hours after delivery. Include the order or invoice number, signed delivery receipt, packing list, photographs, piece count, and a detailed description. Preserve the product and all pallets, crates, cartons, wrapping, bands, labels, and packaging until Cornish Medical provides written
instructions.

Carrier rules and filing deadlines vary and may be shorter. Prompt reporting does not guarantee that a carrier will accept a claim. Cornish Medical will review the shipment terms and carrier arrangement and advise who is responsible for filing and managing the claim.

The inspection and reporting principles above also apply to parcel shipments, but the detailed dockside procedure is specifically required for LTL freight deliveries.
